The second course for Ship Handling Appreciation was successfully completed. The course was organized by Capt. Shlomo Uzan, Port Captain of the Port of Hadera and an instructor of Simulator training exercises for Port Pilots together with Capt. Michael Kris, Manager of the Simulator Center at the Institute.
The Authority informs that the course teaches the participants to understand the principles and limitations of maneuvering ships in ports, the responsibilities of the Master and Pilot, use of tugs, the effects of weather on maneuvers along with the rules in Israel and the world about the safety limitations near and in ports.
The duration of the course is three days and is conducted in the modern updated Bridge Simulator at the Institute and is suitable for Port Managers, Shipping Companies, Ministry of Transport (Shipping Division), Israel Ports, Israel Navy, Surveyors and Marine Lawyers et al.
It is further added that the course is taught in small groups in order to enable each and every participant to check all aspects opposite the most senior professionals.
